Our Story

We began as a hobby farm, 20 years ago, with 2 horses and a few acres of property in beautiful New Milford CT. Soon, we added more horses, with the thought of doing riding lessons or pony parties or even boarding. This discussion went on for years, all the while adding more animals; unwanted llamas, 2 sheep who were meant for the dinner plate and a couple of goats who were destined for stew. A pregnant potbellied pig called our place home since her owner had too many. She gave birth to 7 piglets - 6 were re-homed to loving families. Add to this some young horses who were Premarin babies and needed a home; a mini donkey, some neglected horses, well you get the picture. We then realized that we were giving these animals sanctuary all this time and that this should be our mission going forward. Cobble Hill Animal Sanctuary was born! Please support us on our journey to help these and other animals who are in need.

Our Mission

Cobble Hill Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to providing a forever home for of abused, neglected and unwanted animals. We provide them with care and compassion at our refuge in the Upper Merryall section of New Milford, Connecticut. Although we are a sanctuary where animals may live out their natural lives, if at all possible we try to find them a new forever home. Domestic companion and farm animals of all kinds; horses, pigs, goats, sheep, burros, cows find a safe haven at this unique and dedicated no-kill animal facility.
